Chelsea says In Today's Sioux Falls Argus Leader...:
"In 2006, South Dakota voters clearly voiced in a 56 to 44 percent decision that we do not agree that banning abortion is the right solution to the problem of unintended pregnancy in our state. This year, we are asked to re-evaluate our previous decision and vote yet again on a new version of the same legislation that was up for a vote two years ago."
Dakota Values Says: "The New Legislation Is What You Asked For In 2006... An Exception For Rape And Incest And To Protect The Mother's Heath and Life. I Would Say That It Is A New Version... It Includes The Exceptions That You Asked For! What More Do You Want?????"
Chelsea Says... "Just as in 2006, voting in favor of the measure will signify a sweeping ban on abortion that places a family decision in the hands of the government. This version once again suffers from vague language that guarantees many grey areas for enforcement. While it includes exceptions for rape and incest victims, Measure 11 forces these victims to hand over private details of their experiences and comply with emotionally draining protocols to access safe treatment options. Ultimately, we will be further exploiting victims of rape and incest."
Dakota Values Says... "Many Important Decisions Are Placed In The Hands Of The Government! To Be Able To End The Life Of Another Human Being Is A Serious Matter! As For Incest And Rape... Both Are Crimes! Do You Allow The Criminal To Go Free??? You Wanted Exceptions For Rape And Incest And Here They Are!"
Chelsea Says... "This year's ban once again is unconstitutional and would mire the state in a lengthy and expensive legal battle."
Dakota Values Says, "Chelsea, Are You A Lawyer?? Who Says, This Legislation Is Unconstitutional??? Brilliant Lawyers Have Written The Legislation So That It Will Not Be Deemed Unconstitional. Just A Reminder, Just Recently The 8th Circuit Court Of Appeal Deemed The 2005 South Dakota Informed Consent Law To Be Legal!
Chelsea Says...
"Let us, as voters, once again reject a rigid and inadequate solution to a social dilemma that is much more complex. It is counterproductive to focus our efforts on abolishing abortion, an end product of unintended pregnancy, when South Dakota's efforts to prevent unintended pregnancies are lacking in the first place."
Dakota Values says..."Give Life A Chance! For The 96 Percent Of Aborted Babies To Be Killed For Inadequate Reasons Is Against South Dakotans Principles. South Dakota's Efforts To Prevent Unintended Pregnancies Are Some Of The Best In The Nation! Ask Governor Rounds About The Statistics!"
Chelsea Says..."Did you know that South Dakota is ranked No. 44 in the U.S. based on our efforts to help women obtain contraceptive services and supplies and to use them consistently and correctly? And did you know that almost half of unintended pregnancies result from using a contraceptive method inconsistently or incorrectly during the month of conception and that the other half occur among women who were not using any method of birth control at all?"
Dakota Values says..."44th??? It All Depends On Who You Are Talking To And Who Is Gathering The Data!!!"
Dakota Values Says... "Vote Yes On Initiative 11 Because Chelsea And Her Friends Want You To Vote No!"
