Abortion Unreasonable!
Marcia A. Steffen • Sioux Falls • October 22, 2008

"I have only one question for Scott M. Green of Harrisburg, who thinks the abortion ban is unreasonable. What is reasonable about killing a child in the womb at whatever stage of development the child is?"

Obama's Abortion Record
Terry G. Hutchison • Garretson • October 22, 2008

"South Dakota voters have a right to know the record of Sen. Barack Obama on abortion. Six years ago when he was in the Illinois state Senate, Obama was the only senator to speak against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which protects babies born alive after a failed abortion. He opposes a ban on partial birth abortion and is in favor of allowing for the transporting of minor girls across state lines for abortions without parental notice or consent of a parent. His support of the Freedom of Choice Act would make any kind of abortion anywhere legal and override any state's rights. Is it any wonder Obama receives 100 percent approval from Planned Parenthood? Please consider this information when you go to vote."

Abortion Is Human Rights Issue
Shirley J. Vrooman • Sioux Falls • October 22, 2008

"The Group fighting Initiated Measure 11 plans to spend a million dollars. It sounds to me like there is a lot of money at stake in the abortion industry. This is not just a religious concern but a human rights and justice issue. The plain and simple fact is when you abort a baby, you are ending a life. If nothing else convinces you, think of in-vitro fertilization. Once the egg has been fertilized, there is life. All it needs is a nurturing, motherly environment, and it will grow. There are a lot of apparently good reasons why abortion sounds like a solution to a problem. But it's not a problem or burden. It is a life, and to destroy a human life is always wrong. This is why we are asking the people of South Dakota to vote on this issue again. Initiated Measure 11 provides for the exceptions the people asked for last time, so please vote yes for life."

Abortion Ban Easy To Understand
Dee M. Cink • Sioux Falls • October 22, 2008

If Sanford Health Chief Executive Officer Kelby Krabbenhoft thinks Initiated Measure 11 is difficult to understand, he is underestimating the intelligence of the doctors on his staff.I am able to figure it out. If this was an "unintended release" and labeled "privileged and confidential," how safe are our patient medical records at Sanford Health?
